*Job Summary*
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Head Coach to lead our jump rope team. We are looking for someone to further develop, enhance, grow and direct our competitive program.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills. This role requires an individual who can educate and inspire athletes, fostering a positive and competitive environment while ensuring the development of each athlete's skills. Specific knowledge of the sport of jump rope is not required as the Head Coach will be assisted by experienced Athlete Coaches in the gym. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of gym management, cross-training techniques and strategies, and excellent interpersonal skills.
*Responsibilities*
* Develop and implement comprehensive coaching strategies and training programs tailored to the needs of individual athletes and the team as a whole.
* Educate athletes on training techniques, strategies, and the importance of physical conditioning.
* Conduct regular practices, ensuring that all sessions are productive and engaging.
* Monitor and assess athlete performance, providing constructive feedback for improvement.
* Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
* Ensure all team members adhere to team rules and standards.
* Collaborate with other coaching staff to enhance training methodologies and athlete development.
* Provide guidance and counselling to the athletes, including setting performance goals and resolving conflicts.
* Maintain safety standards during practices and competitions, ensuring a secure environment for all participants.
*Requirements*
* Proven experience as a Head Coach in a similar role preferred.
* Strong knowledge of training methodologies and athlete development principles.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and educate athletes effectively.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by practice schedules or competitions.
* Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to inspire and motivate team members.
* Certification in CPR/First Aid is mandatory.
* Certification through NCCP is required.

*Additional Information*
* The regular jump rope season runs from September to May. Required to work on weekends and evenings. Travel within Alberta up to 4 to 5 weekends per season, one weekend of travel for National competition and potentially one international trip every two years for World competition. World competitions occur every second year in July (upcoming 2025 Worlds to be held in Japan).
* The Head Coach reports to the Board of Directors, made up of parent volunteers.
* Salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
