Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Business Support, in this unionized position you will prepare and process fire related permits, tickets and respond to a variety of enquiries, requests and complaints in support of fire services. This position requires considerable independence and judgment within established guidelines and will appeal to applicants who are organized, detail-oriented and committed to excellence in customer service.Responsibilities Receive, review and process permit applications and tickets issued by the Protective Services - Fire Division Respond to enquiries, requests and complaints by telephone, email, and in person and assist by explaining and interpreting rules, regulations, and general policies Prepare and maintain a variety of records, reports and documents and function as the recording secretary, taking minutes at various meetings, as required Process accounts receivable, accounts payable transactions and maintain supply inventory Maintain computer/manual files, records, and databases, and retrieve information from files as needed Perform related work as requiredQualifications Completion of Grade 12, preferably including or supplemented by commercial and accounting courses plus considerable related experience, preferably in a municipal environment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience Sound knowledge of modern business practices and procedures Ability to draft routine correspondence and format reports, documents and forms Knowledge of recordkeeping, billing, indexing and related clerical functions Ability to communicate effectively with the public and internal/external contacts in processing a variety of enquiries, complaints and related matters Knowledge in the operation of office equipment Experience in a fire services environment is considered an assetApply NowVisit tol.ca/careers to apply for this exciting career opportunity in a growing community.
