Posting Number : T 2 4 - 419 Date Issued: December 17, 2024POSITION Worksite: Student Services / Various SchoolsContract Type: Temporary, Full-TimeAssignment Area(s): Speech Language PathologistSalary Range: $59,711 to $109,520 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement)Effective Date: February 2, 2025, until not later than June 30, 2025Please Note : The assignment within this position may not be identical to the assignment in this posted position.Deadline for Applications: Wednesday, January 8, 2025 - 12:00 pm Electronic Applications must be submitted through Make A Future www.makeafuture.ca and include a Cover Letter, Resume, Teaching Report, Transcripts & the names of 2 current supervisors who can comment on your teaching.Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience: Please Note : As this is an itinerant position, the successful applicant must have a car and a valid BC driver's license a Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology from a recognized universitymust be eligible for membership in the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC demonstrated ability to support students with speech and language needs by:coordinating their Speech-Language Services with the teams in their assigned schoolsidentifying, assessing and evaluating those children with possible significant communicative impairmentsplanning, developing, providing or directing appropriate and effective intervention programs (individually, in the classroom or in small groups as appropriate)demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with School Based Teams, including parents, School District personnel and outside agencies and professionals regarding the student's needs in the classroom and other school and home environmentsdemonstrated ability to consult with teachers, parents, and other school personnel within the framework of an inter-disciplinary teamexperience and understanding of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)proven interpersonal skills in order to develop excellent working relationships with school staff and parentsdemonstrated ability to develop and present in-service to school district personnel and parentsdemonstrated ability to establish, with School Based Teams, a method of service delivery that includes: caseload selection and scheduling, record keeping, evaluating programs, developing instructional materialsand scheduling and supervising speech-language assistantsdemonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills, including report writing for information and clarityexperience working in an educational setting and with students with special needs preferredFor Further Information Contact: Salvina Sharp, District Principal Student Services or Jessica Adams-Loupret, District Vice Principal Student Services (604) 794-5553- LocationChilliwack, BC
