Our schools are teaching communities where principals, vice-principals, teachers and support staff nurture student well-being and challenge students to achieve their best.<p> <p> We are seeking a creative, dynamic, committed professional to join our team: <p> General Manager, Learning Support Services<p>100% Regular<p>Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week<p>$145,941 to $171,825 per annum (Union Exempt, Level 11) <p><p>Reporting to the Superintendent of Learning Support Services, the General Manager of Learning Support Services is responsible to develop, organize and direct the delivery of equitable, inclusive and culturally responsive services and programs required for students with special education learning profiles. This job consults with internal and external stakeholders to promote the importance of inclusion, student achievement and wellbeing in alignment with the strategic objectives of the OCDSB. <p> <p>Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:<p><p> <p> Supervises professional support staff managers and support staff within psychology/behaviour analysts, speech/language pathology/occupational therapy, and social work services.<p> <p> <p> Supervises department coordinators and collaborates with system principals regarding the assignments and workload.<p> <p> <p> Oversees coordination of Specialized Program Classes, including pupil accommodation, quality program indicators, service delivery model review and reporting.<p> <p> <p> Working collaboratively with Employee Services, Facilities Department, and Planning Department to support the annual board recommended budget process and prepares various reports in relation to specialized program class staffing. <p> <p> <p> Participation on various board-level committees.<p> <p> <p> Manages various departmental priorities such as, IEP Online (IOL), Summer Learning Program for Students with ASD/DD, Health and Medical (e.g., service animals, specialized health services in schools), Program Evaluation, and Policy and Procedure development/review.<p> <p> <p> Oversees the coordination of Ministry Initiatives, funding sources and reporting (i.e. Special Incident Portion).<p> <p> <p> Works in coordination with other departments to oversee Transportation for students with special education needs.<p> <p> <p> Leads the Early Learning Team (Cross departmental, multi-disciplinary to ensure appropriate programming to support students across the District).<p> <p><p> <p><p><p> <p> <p> <p> <p> Qualifications<p> <p> <p> <p><p><p><p> <p> Masters Degree or higher in a Regulated Health Profession and 7 years of experience in the field of special education, within an educational setting. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered. <p> <p> <p> Must be a member in good standing with a professional health college in Ontario.<p> <p> <p> Experience supervising professional disciplinary teams. <p> <p> <p> Management skills, including supervising, coordinating work, evaluating staff, programs/services; and demonstrates strong leadership for mentoring, coaching, training and motivating teams. <p> <p> <p> Excellent communication skills required in order to respond, clarify or request pertinent information from others, either in writing or through verbal conversations, and must demonstrate interpersonal qualities to establish and maintain effective working relationships, including using sensitivity and empathy with affected stakeholders. <p> <p> <p> Writing skills for developing reports, correspondence, or presentations.
