Stocco Construction Co. Ltd.is a General Contractor in the disaster restoration and custom home/renovation sector. This is a fast-paced, competitive environment, and our core value is to wow every single one of our customers. Stocco Construction is looking for an experienced construction estimator. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of construction estimating experience, past disaster restoration experience and have knowledge of Xactimate. The estimator is responsible for calculating the total cost of a project including labour, trades, and material costs. This includes identifying and researching suppliers, contractors and sub-contractors, preparing and evaluating requests for quotations from suppliers and contractors/sub-contractors, checking estimates for accuracy, presenting the prepared estimate, and working with the design build and project management teams on budgeting and cost control. Duties will include but not be limited to: * Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs * Material take offs * Be knowledgeable with estimating and blueprint reading software * Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads * Provide economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects * Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications * Solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers. * Determine general expenses and provide input into margins/fees. * Conduct thorough reviews of the project documents and analyze subcontractor requirements. * Identify inherent risk and opportunities including strategies to create a competitive edge. * Work with the client or consultants with respect to issues that may require clarification or elaboration. * Work closely with our Project Managers * Proficient in MS Office products * Enter data into our ERP software * Must have a valid drivers licence Please forward your resume and a cover letter.
