As a leading plumbing and HVAC distributor - wholesaler owned by the Deschenes Group Inc., Desco is currently comprised of 17 locations and 3 showrooms with markets across Ontario.
We are currently looking for that driven, customer focused *Sales Representative* to join Desco and be part of our dynamic team in the *GTA and East Region.*
*The Opportunity*
Responding to ongoing business priorities and growth initiatives, the Desco Outside Sales Team requires a results driven and personable Outside Sales Representative to manage customer relationships, maximize sales and margin, and prospect new accounts within the GTA and East Region. The product focus for this role includes a combination of Plumbing, Mechanical, Hydronics, and HVAC. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge in at least two of these product categories.
* Regular in-person sales calls on all accounts on their territory.
* Provide continuous market intelligence to your Sales Manager.
* A self-starter, with accomplished communication and presentation skills, to recruit new channels of business, while expanding product and equipment offering to an existing customer base.
* Understanding the customer?s business and needs, identify areas of further opportunity, including purchasing power, market share, and year over year sales.
* Proven negotiation skills and sales ability to implement marketing and business strategies to achieve sales and margin plans; promote new programs and products; and, keep customers abreast of product updates.
* Continually research and provide management with reports on customer needs, challenges, interests, competitive activities, special promotions and potential for new products and services.
* Superior interpersonal and customer service skills to establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
* Interact effectively with Sales Management on strategy, actions items, and progress.
* Coordinate sales efforts with team members, keeping Branch Managers informed and working closely with Quotations to provide accurate order information and instructions.
* Working with Project Management to provide project timelines, updates, changes, etc.
* Work cooperatively with the needs of the credit department; assist in collecting cheques and resolve service issues that can effect timely collection.
* Actively participate in industry associations and events to learn new strategies and trends.
*What You Offer*
* Minimum five years of successful sales experience with product knowledge in Plumbing, Mechanical, Hydronics, and HVAC.
* A post-secondary education in related field or equivalent experience.
* Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales.
* Excellent selling, communication, and negotiation skills.
* Prioritizing, time management and organization skills.
* Computer literate and proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Valid driver?s license.
