<p>The Building Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and proper functioning of the site?s infrastructure and equipment. They oversee the preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and irrigation systems to ensure uninterrupted operations in a controlled environment.</p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong><ul><li>Maintain and service electrical, mechanical, and irrigation systems.</li><li>Diagnose and troubleshoot automated and software-controlled systems.</li><li>Perform daily equipment maintenance according to predefined maintenance schedules.</li><li>Install, modify, and repair production equipment and building infrastructure.</li><li>Conduct repairs to maximize equipment reliability and durability.</li><li>Possess knowledge of plumbing, mechanics, and electricity (an asset).</li><li>Troubleshoot various equipment essential to facility operations.</li><li>Follow established procedures and best practices, and be able to read and interpret technical plans and instructions.</li><li>Perform daily machinery inspections, establish a maintenance plan, and coordinate with external maintenance teams.</li><li>Use the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document maintenance activities and track work history.</li><li>Manage the inventory of necessary parts for maintenance operations and place orders based on needs.</li><li>Collaborate with other team members and, when required, lead a team to ensure optimal efficiency.</li></ul><strong>Required Skills and Qualifications:</strong><ul><li>Experience in industrial or commercial building maintenance.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for technical issues.</li><li>Attention to detail, autonomy, and effective priority management.</li><li>Ability to work as part of a team and interact with internal and external stakeholders.</li><li>Good physical condition and ability to work in a demanding environment.</li></ul> <br> <p>The Building Technician position requires a combination of technical, organizational, and interpersonal skills to ensure the proper functioning of the site's infrastructure and equipment.</p><ul><li><p><strong>Technical Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and irrigation maintenance.</li><li>Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot failures in automated and software-controlled systems.</li><li>Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).</li><li>Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.</li><li>Knowledge of safety regulations for working with electrical and mechanical installations.</li></ul></li><li><p><strong>Organizational Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>Precision and methodical approach in executing maintenance tasks.</li><li>Ability to manage priorities and work within tight deadlines.</li><li>Capability to organize and maintain the inventory of spare parts and necessary maintenance tools.</li></ul></li><li><p><strong>Interpersonal Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>Ability to work collaboratively with various departments.</li><li>Strong communication skills to coordinate tasks and ensure follow-ups with internal and external teams.</li><li>Autonomy and initiative to anticipate maintenance needs and suggest improvements.</li></ul></li><li><p><strong>Other Qualities:</strong></p><ul><li>Good physical condition to work in a demanding environment and handle heavy equipment.</li><li>Strict adherence to safety procedures and regulations.</li><li>Versatility and adaptability to respond to various maintenance needs on-site.</li></ul></li></ul><p>This role requires a proactive, organized, and versatile professional capable of working efficiently in a constantly evolving environment.</p>- LocationGatineau, QC
