Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems. Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors. Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings. Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment. Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges. Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing. Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size. Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year. Green job: Involves duties and responsibilities that lead to positive environmental outcomes. Support for newcomers and refugees: Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster (for example: Ukraine, Afghanistan, etc.) . Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition. Support for youths: Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth. Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth. Support for Indigenous people: Develops and maintains relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses and organizations . Support for mature workers: Applies hiring policies that discourage age discrimination . Supports for visible minorities: Applies hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities (for example: anonymizing the hiring process, etc.).- LocationVictoria, BC
