Morley Hoppner is a dynamic Ottawa-based corporation offering Construction Management, Design Build, Development and General Contracting services in the Commercial, Institutional, Industrial and High Rise Residential sectors.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced *Payroll Administrator* to join our accounting team on a part time basis working Monday ? Wednesday from 8am ? 5pm. Reporting to the Controller, the ideal candidate will manage and process payroll, and the administration of employee pension and benefits for our growing workforce in Ottawa. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll legislation, regulations and tax compliance.
*Duties:*
* Accurately process a weekly Union payroll and a bi-weekly Non-union payroll for employees in Ottawa.
* Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll legislation as well as the Union Collective Agreement.
* Ensure timely delivery of payroll services for approximately 75 employees.
* Administer payroll for all staff, including calculating wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions and prepare Records of Employment.
* Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws, tax regulations, and payroll standards in Ontario.
* Perform payroll related reconciliations for year end and audit purposes.
* Manage staff enrolment in the company pension and benefit plans.
* Address and resolve payroll, pension and benefit related inquiries from employees.
*What You Bring*
* Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
* 3+ years of payroll experience.
* Strong knowledge of Ontario/Canadian payroll legislation and regulations.
* High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to handle sensitive information confidentially.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems.
* Experience in the construction industry is an asset
* Experience with Viewpoint software is an asset.
* Canadian professional payroll designation is an asset.
