Maibec CanExel has been in business for over 55 years and has a workforce of approximately 200 employees in our East River facility. Maibec CanExel is located in East River, Nova Scotia (just outside of Hubbards). The location is 1 minute off Exit 7 from Highway #103, making it an easy commute of approximately 30 minutes from Bayers Lake or Bridgewater. Maibec CanExel is seeking a *Red Seal* *Millwright/Industrial Mechanic *to join a dynamic team in East River, Nova Scotia. Millwrights/Industrial Mechanics are part of the Maintenance team who maintain, repair, install, assemble and modify equipment. The rate of pay for this position is *$39.03 * Maibec CanExel offers a comprehensive benefits package including health and dental plans, short term disability, long term disability, life insurance, Employee & Family Assistance Program and a generous retirement plan with a maximum company contribution of 5.5% of your earnings. *KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:* * Maintains, repairs, installs, assembles and modifies equipment * Lubrication of machinery, seal replacement, cleaning of parts during overhauls and preventative maintenance * Reads and creates blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures * Enter work requests and order parts and materials with CMMS * Troubleshoot, adjust, and repair equipment as required * Complete, help develop and improve PM?s in the area of responsibility * Aligns machines and equipment * Assembles machines * Install, repair and maintain plumbing and piping * Install, repair and maintain airlines, pneumatic and hydraulic systems * Welding, cutting and fabricating * Maintain and monitor equipment using predictive and preventive techniques. (Vibration analysis, stethoscopes, strobe lights and thermal imaging) * Train and mentor apprentices * Actively participate in EHS Programs * Maintain housekeeping of the assigned areas * Participate in improvement projects * Perform other duties as required *QUALIFICATIONS:* * Red Seal Industrial Mechanic/Millwright * Knowledge of equipment maintenance. * Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time, climb, bend, stoop, squat and lift. * Ability to work in confined spaces and at substantial heights * Ability to work in a team environment * Time management, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills. * Good communication, interpersonal skills and writing skills. * Demonstrated coordination and mechanical ability. * Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations. * Good problem-solving ability * Intermediate computer skills * Willing to take training courses for trade upgrading *WORK ENVIRONMENT:* * Plant environment * Shift work *BENEFITS:* * Casual dress * Company pension * Dental care * Disability insurance * Employee assistance program * Extended health care * Life insurance * On-site parking * Vision care _All offers of employment are conditional on successful completion of a background check._ Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $39.03 per hour Additional pay: * Overtime pay Benefits: * Casual dress * Company pension * Dental care * Disability insurance * Employee assistance program * Extended health care * Life insurance * On-site parking * Vision care Schedule: * 12 hour shift * 8 hour shift * Day shift * Night shift Licence/Certification: * Red Seal (preferred) Work Location: In person
