Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate *High School Math Teacher* to support and inspire students in their academic growth. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, prior classroom or tutoring experience, and a solid understanding of the *Ontario high school curriculum*, especially in mathematics and science-related subjects. Preference will be given to candidates who are *Ontario Certified Teachers (OCT)* or who have strong experience teaching high school-level math in Ontario. The teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, supporting students with different learning needs, and helping students build the skills and confidence needed for academic success. Responsibilities * Develop and deliver clear, engaging, and well-structured lesson plans aligned with Ontario curriculum expectations. * Teach high school mathematics courses, such as Grade 9?12 Math, Functions, Advanced Functions, Calculus, Data Management, and related subjects. * Support students in understanding key mathematical concepts, problem-solving strategies, and test preparation skills. * Provide additional academic support or tutoring to students who need extra assistance. * Adapt teaching methods to meet different learning styles and student needs. * Assess student progress through classwork, assignments, quizzes, and tests, and provide constructive feedback. * Maintain clear communication with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and learning goals. * Create a positive, respectful, and productive classroom environment. * Collaborate with the academic team on curriculum planning, course development, and student support strategies. * Support students in developing strong study habits, critical thinking skills, and confidence in math and science-related learning. Qualifications and Experience * Prior teaching or tutoring experience at the high school level is required. * Strong knowledge of the Ontario high school mathematics curriculum is highly preferred. * Familiarity with high school science curriculum content is considered an asset. * OCT certification is strongly preferred. * Experience teaching courses such as Advanced Functions, Calculus, Functions, Data Management, or Grade 9?10 Math is an asset. * Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and adapt instruction to different student levels. * Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills. * Experience working with students of diverse academic backgrounds is preferred. * A patient, responsible, and encouraging teaching style is essential. Preferred Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about education, familiar with Ontario secondary school expectations, and able to help students strengthen both their academic foundation and confidence. Candidates with OCT certification and experience teaching high school math or science in Ontario are strongly encouraged to apply.
