<b>ROLE SUMMARY </b>: <br><span><span><span>In a general way, the professor's teaching load shall include: preparation of course outline; preparation of classes, labs and fieldwork; teaching classes; adaptation; support and supervision of students; preparation, invigilation and correction of examinations; revision of corrections at the students? request; participation in pedagogical days organized by the College; participation in departmental meetings and required activities.</span></span> </span><br><br><b>DUTIES</b>: <br>The College is seeking a part-time professor to join a dynamic team to teach onsite the following courses within the English (603) department in the Fall 2026 semester.<br><br><strong>603-101-MQ Introduction to College English</strong><br><em>4 hours of teaching plus 4 hours of availability (total 8 hours per week)</em><br>This course is directed toward broadening the student's awareness and understanding of literature while improving writing abilities by extensive written work based on literary texts. It uses the same textbooks as the Introduction to College English: Literature, but because of the emphasis on writing skills has a reduced list of readings.<br><br><strong>603-111-MQ Introduction to College English, 60 hours</strong><br><em>4 hours of teaching plus 4 hours of availability (total 8 hours per week)</em><br>This course is directed toward broadening the student?s awareness and understanding of literature while improving writing abilities by extensive written work based on literary texts.<br><br><strong>Start Date:</strong> August 17th, 2026<br><strong>End date:</strong> January 15th, 2027<br><br><b>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED</b>:<ul><li><span><span>?????Minimum of a Master's degree in English Literature.</span></span></li><li><span><span>Several years of teaching experience at the undergraduate or college level is preferred.</span></span></li><li><span><span>Excellent communication skills in English.</span></span></li></ul><b>ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS</b>:<br><span><span><span><span><strong>Ability to:</strong></span></span></span></span><ul><li><span><span>Create a dynamic, challenging, and motivated learning environment.</span></span></li><li><span><span>Adapt to a variety of student needs and provide appropriate academic and career development support to students.</span></span></li><li><span><span>Employ exemplary communication and interpersonal skills.</span></span></li><li><span><span>Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter through practical experiences.</span></span></li><li><span><span>Apply theoretical concepts to current workplace needs and skill requirements.</span></span></li><li><span><span>Must be flexible as required by the department workloads.</span></span></li><li><span><span>Stay abreast of changes and new program requirements through regular professional development activities.</span></span></li><li><span><span>Be willing to work collaboratively within the department team.</span></span></li></ul><b>SALARY RANGE (PER YEAR)</b>: <br><span>57,484.00$ - 110,711.00$</span>- Location Gatineau, QC
