SCHOOL DISTRICT #27 (CARIBOO-CHILCOTIN) Phone: (778) 799-2962 Email: iuoepost@sd27.bc.ca October 4, 2024 EXTERNAL POSITION Posting #: S-2024-0177 TEMPORARY Position: EDUCATION ASSISTANT Location: CATALINE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 10 mos., 26.25 hours/week. <p>Duration: Effective date to be determined to June 27, 2025. The successful applicant will work under<p>the supervision of the principal or vice principal of the school. The successful applicant will work<p>under the direction of the classroom teacher and/or learning support teacher. <p><p>Rate of Pay: Level 1: 29.19 Level 2: 32.42<p><p>Threshold Qualifications: ? Completion of a recognized Education Assistant course ? Experience and/or training working with groups of children in a school or other educational<p>setting ? Training and experience working with students with challenging behaviors ? Training and experience with alternate communication techniques ? Demonstrated ability to employ effective behavior management techniques ? Training and experience working with students with Autism ? Physically capable of performing all duties of the job ? Personal care of students<p><p>Desirable Qualifications: ? Training and experience working with students with FASD ? Experience in multi-grade classroom setting<p><p>Duties Include, but are not limited to: ? Under the direction of the teacher, providing educational assistance in learning activites for<p>students ? Working one-on-one and in small groups ? Experience in a multi-grade classroom setting<p><p>Fringe benefits are as provided in the current Union Agreement.
