SCHOOL DISTRICT #27 (CARIBOO-CHILCOTIN) Phone: (778) 799-2962 Email: iuoepost@sd27.bc.ca October 4, 2024 EXTERNAL POSITION Posting #: S-2024-0190 TEMPORARY Position: EDUCATION ASSISTANT <p>Location: LAKE CITY SECONDARY SCHOOL 10 mos., 30.0 hours/week.<p><p>Duration: Effective date to be determined to June 27, 2025. The successful applicant will work under<p>the supervision of the principal or vice principal of the school. The successful applicant will work<p>under the direction of the classroom teacher and/or learning support teacher. <p><p>Rate of Pay: Level 1: 29.19 Level 2: 32.42<p><p>Threshold Qualifications: ? Completion of a recognized Education Assistant course ? Experience and/or training working with groups of children in a school or other educational<p>setting ? Training and experience working with students with challenging behaviors ? Training and experience with alternate communication techniques ? Working knowledge of high school subjects and/or secondary school subjects ? Demonstrated ability to employ effective behavior management techniques ? Training and experience working with physically dependent students ? Training and experience working with students with Autism ? Physically capable of performing all duties of the job ? Personal care of students<p><p>Desirable Qualifications: ? Training and experience working with students with FASD ? Experience in a multi-grade classroom setting ? Training and experience with gastro-intestinal tube feeding ? Training and experience working with students with Angleman syndrome ? Training and experience working with students with Muscular Dystrophy ? Training and experience working with students with Diabetes<p><p>Duties Include, but are not limited to: ? Under the direction of the teacher, providing educational assistance in learning activities for<p>students ? Working one-on-one and in small groups ?
