*Bar Manager* The Acorn Restaurant ? Vancouver, BC The Acorn, an award-winning, Michelin recommended, plant-forward restaurant and bar is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Bartender to join our dynamic team. We pride ourselves on creativity, collaboration, and a commitment to sustainability, and we?re looking for someone who shares these values. *Key Responsibilities:* - Develop and manage an innovative bar program that aligns with The Acorn?s ethos of creativity and sustainability, including crafting seasonal cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages. - Collaborate closely with local suppliers to source high-quality, local spirits, beers and ingredients, ensuring our bar menu supports and celebrates the community. - Lead and inspire the bar team, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and continuous learning. - Maintain an unwavering focus on minimizing waste in line with our zero-waste initiatives, ensuring sustainable practices are implemented in all bar operations. - Ensure a high level of customer service by engaging with guests and providing a memorable experience that reflects The Acorn?s commitment to quality and sustainability. - Oversee inventory, ordering, and cost control to ensure the bar runs efficiently and profitably. - Train and mentor staff on the bar menu, cocktail techniques, and sustainable practices - Serving tables as needed within our collaborative, team driven environment *Qualifications:* - Previous bar management experience in a fast-paced, high-quality restaurant or bar. - A passion for sustainability and experience implementing zero-waste practices. - Strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both the bar and kitchen teams. - Creative flair and a passion for crafting unique cocktails with an emphasis on local and seasonal ingredients. - Knowledge of local suppliers and a commitment to supporting the local community. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - WSET Level 2 or equivalent *Why Join The Acorn?* At The Acorn, we celebrate creativity and innovation, with a deep commitment to the environment and our local community.
