The Lake Babine Nation has signed a long-term log supply and forest management agreement with West Fraser to supply the Pacific Inland Resources sawmill in Smithers. Under the agreement, the Lake Babine Nation Forestry Limited Partnership will supply the mill with logs while maintaining the sustainable management of the licenced lands.
The Government of British Columbia has partnered with the Northwest BC Resource Benefits Alliance to provide $250M in funding over 5 years for critical infrastructure projects in the province’s northwest.
