The Metis Nation of B.C. is working with the City of Campbell River to acquire four properties on Dogwood Street to make space for the creation of 40 affordable housing units and a daycare facility. MNBC has committed to purchasing the properties, which currently sit empty, at fair market value.
Four projects in the Comox Valley have received a total of $1.7 million for active transportation infrastructure projects, with two in Courtenay, one in Comox, and one in the Comox Valley Regional District. The funding will support sidewalk, roadway, and multi-use pathway construction and upgrades to encourage safe and active transportation.
