*Job Overview*
Brentwood?s Learn and Play, a non profit, aims to instill a lifelong love of learning in children through its Learn Through Play Philosophy. The Assistant Director position (30-35 hours/week) supports the Director in managing a licensed childcare center (Playschool/OSC) for children aged 3 to 12. Key responsibilities include ensuring we are following all childcare regulations and AHS requirements, assisting in the office, collaborating with the leadership team, and over seeing our afterschool program.
The ideal candidate should have strong communication and organizational skills, a passion for early childhood education, and relevant experience. Someone who thinks outside the box. They will help cultivate a nurturing atmosphere, develop engaging activities, and foster relationships with parents to enhance community involvement. We seek a compassionate individual eager to positively impact young children's lives.
Due to Alberta Childcare Regulations this person must hold a level 2 or higher in the ECE field or teaching degree.
*Responsibilities*
* Ensure we are following Alberta Child care regulations
* Ensure we are surpassing AHS recommendations when it comes to Health and Safety and Outbreak Prevention
* Ensuring we are meeting all fire and safety requirements
* Ensure we are supporting the rights of the child
* Reports to the Director any staffing issues, client issues and damaged materials.
* Alongside the Director, Staff training
* Alongside the Director, assists in overseeing the center's operations.
* Ensure staff are following company policies
* Alongside the Director, administrative tasks such as; Attendance, Staff, hours/schedules, Staff files, Child files, Finances, Bookkeeping
* Collaborating with both the Leadership Team, Program Director and Parent board of Directors
* Managing and purchasing program supplies
* Taking on a mentor role for those obtaining a higher level of education.
*Skills*
* Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of managing teams effectively.
* Excellent business development skills, with the ability to identify and pursue new opportunities.
* Computer knowledge in Quickbooks and Timesavr is and asset
* Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
* Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
* Maintaining a calm and positive domineer.

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
